Jean-Philippe BOEVER

Legal expert

A lawyer and economist by training, Jean-Philippe is the driving force behind GridCop® – the all-European, fully passive and fibre optics-based sensor solution for the remote monitoring, management and protection of critical infrastructures and assets at the physical layer. The uniqueness of the GridCop® sensor solution has earned it worldwide patents, ranging from the Americas to and including China.

Jean-Philippe is an indefatigable, very hands-on advocate of the shaking and reshuffling of slightly dusty and antediluvian security concepts and plans through the integration of “physical” and “human” factors into the allegedly ever more complex security matrix. He does spend time above and below ground, in the company of a variety of infrastructures, civil, governmental and military [and creatures, small and smallest], to design their optimal monitoring layout, a.o. from a dynamic security and a proactive maintenance perspective.

When in suit and tie, Jean-Philippe is an unorthodox, out-of-league infrastructure security, ICT & media consultant, a host and speaker at major European ICT & infrastructure events and a past lecturer for almost 20 years at the University of Luxembourg and its predecessor institutions. Jean-Philippe’s past assignments were in banking 🤫, heavy industry and media/telecoms.

”It is not the infrastructure as such that is vulnerable – it is our perception of and our interaction with Infrastructure that create its exposure!”
