Workshop: How to benefit from DDoS ecosystem?
Within this workshop a subset of the DDoS ecosystem will be presented with the focus on contributions to the Distributed Denial of Service Detection Devices (d4) project funded by the CEF grant 2017-LU-IA-0099. The workshop will be divided in two parts. The first part will focus on darknet data exploitation techniques based on the AIL framework to gather information on DDoS services, attack strategies, hacktivism and the identifications of pointers to the darknets. The data acquisition techniques of these pointers are explained along with their exploitation.
The second part will focus more on the network capture processing activities and DDoS malware analysis part. Passive denial of service attack mechanisms will
be presented that will be implemented in the D4 project followed by the collection of denial of service malware.
