Biography
Eric Krier holds a master degree in sociology, psychology and economics from the university of Augsburg. Before joining the Department of Media, Telecommunications and Digital Policy of the State Ministry in 2018, he has gained a deep experience in the fields of non-formal education. Among others, he launched a wide range of peer projects and digital projects in the field of youth work, under the umbrella of the youth portal (youth.lu) and was later on head of unit.
Eric was launching and driving the projects BEE SECURE (in 2010, on online security) and BEE CREATIVE (in 2015, on eSkills) in close collaboration with partner ministries and associations. Eric’s vision on successful awareness raising was always based on cooperation and open-mindedness.
Eric’s current focus at the Department of Media, Telecommunications and Digital Policy evolve around modern telecommunications and its societal implications. One focus currently rotates around the 5th generation of mobile communications. But the look goes beyond: associated technologies, 6G,… Telecommunication services influence the citizens and the societal changes trigger new digital services and businesses.
